Frequently Asked Questions

What hardware do I need to use SAGRA?
SAGRA works on iPad and Mac. To receive live ADS-B traffic, you need a compatible 1090 MHz ADS-B receiver that connects via Bluetooth (e.g., Cadmos 1090Mhz ADS-B Receiver/Transmitter). Alternatively, you can connect to a remote SagraWeb server via WebSocket without any additional hardware.
How do I connect to a SagraWeb server?
Go to Settings and set the server host, port, username, and password provided by your administrator. Enable TLS (wss://) for secure connections.
Can I use SAGRA without an internet connection?
Yes. When connected to a Bluetooth ADS-B receiver, SAGRA works completely offline using locally cached maps. You can also play back previously recorded sessions without any connectivity.
What data formats does SAGRA support?
SAGRA supports ASTERIX Cat 21 (ADS-B), ASTERIX Cat 62 (multi-radar system tracks), ASTERIX Cat 240 (radar video) and GDL90 data formats. The desktop SagraWeb version supports additional ASTERIX categories.
How do I play back a recorded session?
Tap the menu icon (top-left) and select "Playback". Choose a recorded session file from the list. The app will replay traffic with the original timing. You can stop playback at any time from the same menu.
What is Driver Mode?
Driver Mode optimizes the interface for airport vehicle drivers. It centers the map on your GPS position, enables auto-zoom along routes, and provides relevant alerts for surface operations. You can toggle it in Settings.
Does SAGRA support external displays?
Yes. On iPad, you can mirror or extend to external displays via AirPlay or wired connections (USB-C to HDMI). On Mac, the app supports multi-monitor setups.
